It's now official. Konami has clearly stated that in partnership with Columbia pictures, they do indeed intend to make a Metal Gear movie. The first efforts it seemed were scrapped because of some deep issues that were involved. The biggest questions that get asked take place when you try to make a movie adaptation of a video game. You have to bring in the right people for the job. The Metal Gear game storyline is so vast and intricate, that you really have to take time to get the movie right. That of course is why Avi Arad was brought in on the job to make sure the Metal Gear movie gets the attention it needs. He produced many Marvel based cartoons, and is no stranger to taking comic book franchises and turning them into movie magic. He believes that video games in this day and age are the "comic books of today", so with his help, and some added Konami influence from Hideo Kojima, the new Metal Gear game based movie has a lot of potential.
