Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 gets a special Free Update adding some new elements to the game play

Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 will receive a free update coming out tomorrow on December 21, 2010. What's new in this update for PES 2011, some very cool add on features to boot. First the core design of the new Pro Evolution Soccer game will be improved for more freedom of play, along with the defenses artificial intelligence engine. Other features such as difficulty level settings and the ability to summon Rainbow Flick moves have also been improved in PES. Pro Evolution Soccer this year in its release has seen a second place among its rival FIFA 2011. However PES has held its own giving it a high rating among soccer fans alike. Keep in mind there is also in development a new Pro Evolution Soccer game slated for the Nintendo DS system soon next year in 2011. It's nice to see PES make its debut on the hand held market as well as the big consoles. Are you ready for Metal Gear Liquid? Capcom games gets into the action for a change

Or rather "MGS Solid & Liquid", as it's being referred to. MGS Solid & Liquid is fixing to be a Christmas Eve gift, brought about by none other than CAPCOM, in collaboration with Konami of course. It's going to be a download able quest for the game Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and it is going to be based on the famous Metal Gear game "Peace Walker". If you complete the MGS Solid and Liquid quest, you will unlock items like Solid Neko Suits, a weapon called Solid Neko Knife, and another item called Infinite Neko Bandanya. Keep in mind that the Metal Gear game Liquid isn't the last of this type of quest. CAPCOM and Konami have decided to bring more content of this type, both based on Monster Hunter Portable and the awsome Metal Gear game Peace Walker. I'll keep an eye on it.

A new Konami title for 3DS is coming soon called "Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights" is fixing to hit the scene

Already another post about this new Konami title for 3DS, and I'm glad. It seems the official title of this game is Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights. Archaeologist Adventure was the name thought to be but I guess not according to a source done at RpgFan yesterday. Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights is a tale about a 19th century Parisian archeologist, joined by a pet monkey, Kiki, and a student called Sophie Coubertin. Since this actually is a "archaeologist adventure" so to speak, little is still known about the official storyline of Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights and what role each of the characters will play. What is known is that it has an expected release date of Spring 2011, that is, in Japan. What we need now is a nice long trailer to the game to see what this cool Konami game "Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights" is going to deliver game play wise. Stay tuned.

"Lords of Shadow Gold Box Deal" hits the Amazon store for Castlevania fans

This story came out on Wednesday, but I though I'd pass it along because it might still be in effect. Amazon has been doing what is called a Gold Box deal on their site and has discounted various games to a lower price. Castlevania Lords of Shadow is among them. Now the story comes from GamingTarget and there are a few others there besides Lords of Shadow that are discounted as well. Never a dull moment is it? And this time there is even a video. Apparently there has been a Metal Gear and Modern Warfare crossing over parody that's making some buzz located at Kotaku. Now this is hilarious, the video located there is dubbed "Modern Gear" , hence the crossover between a Metal Gear game and Modern Warfare. I just watched the video and it cracks me up to say the least. I love it when some folks have way too much time on their hands but hey, it's fun for you to absorb. Metal Gear action Figures get some serious attention these days

While the Metal Gear universe is vast, don't forget about all the Metal Gear Figures and toys out there. Hideo Kojima is at it again and this time he's posted some screen shots to some very nice Metal Gear Figures. Solid Snake, Raiden, and Kaz are some of the few prototypes that are known so far and the detail and precision within them is very impressive. You can judge yourself from the pic below, and if you head to the source story at Kotaku you can see Solid Snake and some individual head figures, as well as a little girl holding the figure of Solid Snake, and that's basically to give you an idea of how big the Metal Gear game Figures actually are. No word on how much these figures will cost. It might be the same issue with the Silent Hill game Pyramid statue, hard to get unless someone on Ebay is cashing in.

New Konami title announced for Nintendo 3DS - Archaeologist Adventure

With the birth of all of these new Nintendo 3DS games in the works, people are wondering the almighty question, what are these games going to look like?, how will they be different from current DS gaming. There is an upcoming Konami title for the Nintendo 3DS called Archaeologist Adventure which has some interesting artwork and graphics to say the least and it's set for a release date in Japan for spring 2011. It's said to feature four game play elements that revolve around Event, Battle, Exploration, and Conversation. Now conversations in Archaeologist Adventure will be totally voiced over and their clothes even change depending on the event at hand. This is one of those Konami games I think we need to see more of. Still waiting on a Castlevania game however. I'm sure it will happen. Two new Konami titles are headed to your Android system soon

Cell phone gaming has really taken off lately and Android gaming is no exception to the rule. Two new Konami games are fixing to take off on the Droid phone format and from the looks of them they seem pretty cool. The first being called Mobile Pawafuru Proyaku 3D, and the second called Golfriends. One a baseball title and the other a Golf game. The really neat thing to point out about both Konami games is they are for the Golfriends Android phones and will be glasses free 3D games. Right, no need for 3D glasses on these games. X-men the Arcade game releases on both PSN and Xbox Live Arcade

Yes it's a few days old, I've been sick the last few days and it isn't fun. Anyway time for some catching up. The 14th this week saw a release of X-Men the Arcade game on PSN, (Playstation Network) while Xbox 360 owners get their version the following day on Xbox Live Arcade. X-men Arcade for Xbox 360 will run about 800 Microsoft points, but if that seems like a lot, remember online multi player mode and a few other additions that has been added to this Konami game title make it more worth the points. For those of you who don't know too much about X Men Arcade and want to see a review and some screen shots you can do so by visiting PlanetXbox360. There is a pretty decent one there of it.

Konami brings new type of payment system to Arcade machines like Road Fighters

Here in North America, Arcades are pretty much all but vanquished. In Japan however, they are still thriving quite a bit. It's been said that it needs an overhaul even with that, and this is where the Konami come into play. Remember a while back there was a Konami game unleashed called Road Fighters?, Road Fighters is compatible with a new type of payment system that Konami has introduced to arcade gamers alike. It is called “Paseli” payment service, similar to a points card service only with Paseli, you create an account and buy, manage and use credits from it for your game. Silent Hill director Michael J. Bassett has his hands full with the production of his new film called Revelations 3D

You know the name, Michael J. Bassett. He's currently undertaking the upcoming horror movie based on Silent Hill that's titled Revelations, something a lot of folks are wondering about. Well that's not the only pie his fingers are in at the moment. Besides working on a Silent Hill game based movie, Michael J. Bassett is also working on yet another horror that involves a haunted mental asylum at Saint Mary's. This is a film where people become trapped within a misused asylum and their deepest and most fearful nightmares manifest themselves and become very real. One can start to understand why Sony chose Bassett to direct a Silent Hill movie. He certainly has the artistic vision to make a horror film. No word as of yet when either the Silent Hill game based movie or the one involving Saint Mary's will have a release date. But then again, Michael does have his hands full.

Metal Gear Arcade makes its debut next week in Japan and will feature virtual reality

Ahh, Japan gets all the good stuff. A Metal Gear for the Arcade is no exception to the rule. But boy there is some nice eye candy, meaning a trailer of Metal Gear Arcade for you to drool over if you head to the Metal Gear game Arcade page at JoyStiq. The Metal Gear game for Arcade is very interactive, built in 3D head tracking set, and Gun controller make for a more realistic experience according to what Konami wants for Arcade gamers. I've just watched all 3 trailers to the new Metal Gear Arcade and I'm pretty impressed so far. Too bad North America will never see a Metal Gear Arcade game unless a miracle happens. But next weeks release of Metal Gear the Arcade game will reveal yet more inside scoop on its game play mechanics. It costs Japanese gamers 100 Yen to play the new Metal Gear game however, so it's not the cheapest Arcade game in the world. Dance Dance Revolution comes alive on your Xbox 360 soon with some new style music and moves

So far, we are looking at a 2011 release of Dance Dance Revolution being produced by Konami for the Xbox 360 system. We just saw a release of DDR for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, but Konami is hard at work for the next installment, which is just fine for Konami game music lovers alike. The next Dance Dance Revolution game is going to feature 2 new modes not seen before in the DDR universe. That being Dance Off and Club Mode. At present with the last release of DDR we saw a splendid use of the Kinect and Playstation Move systems like they've never been used before, placing the player on the screen and making the experience more interactive, as if Dance Dance Revolution couldn't get any more close to the real thing. I'm still waiting on a full song list for this new DDR in the works, and as soon as this particular Konami game makes a statement or a song list release, as always I'll post it here. Could the next Metal Gear "Rising" really be released next June or is this just another silly rumor

I'm starting to think I should work at Burger King because some of these news stories I find are some real whoppers. Here is the deal so far, you know the video game store GameStop right? Well guess what? They actually have the box art for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance at their store site and it has a release date next to it. Now Rising is a hot bed of controversy right now because it marks the end of Solid Snake and a new beginning in the Metal Gear game universe. Where will the story go from the last Metal Gear game Guns of the Patriots and who will be in it? What will their rolls be and their abilities? So many questions and not a lot to work with. I'll let you post your comments about what you think the new Metal Gear game Rising is going to deliver. In the meantime, here is the official story of Rising located at PSU, and here is a link straight to Metal Gear Solid Rising and its so called release date located at GameStop.

Both versions of Rising are located there, for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Keep in mind not to take that release date to heart. I'd rather hear a statement from Konami themselves about Rising. June 3, 2011 sounds a little too soon for a new Metal Gear game.

Correction about X-Men Arcade being released on a specific date mentioned has now been corrected

I hate when this happens. At least it's not often. The post I did earlier about the famous X-Men Arcade out on XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) for an exclusive 2 months turned out to be false. So here we go. Konami has told Joystiq, according to a post located at Co-Optimus that X-Men Arcade will in fact be released next week on the Playstation Network, (PSN) and the following day on the 15th X-Men will see sunlight with Xbox Live Arcade users. Ok that part is etched in stone no doubt. If you've never seen the likes of X-Men the arcade game and would like more info and some screen shots to look at, you can do so by visiting Co-Optimus. 5. You'll get the address 4-2, right-click and Unloading Bottom address then right click again "Toggle breakpoint"
6. Return to your account in game Ninja Saga and select your character and then click "Play"
7. This will stop because the breakpoint has been determined.
8. Click "Debug> Run (or press F9 to shortcuts)
9. Repeat the procedure 8
10. In the panel Registry, you will see a red line "xxxxxx EAX"
11. Left-click on it and it will prompt you to enter a new address, so you paste "FF011B8A" into it (IF YOU WANT JUST PASTE THIS LEVEL 19 "11A6C")
12. Now right click the address and click the "Toggle breakpoint" again to remove the breakpoint.
13. Click "Debug> Run
14. Now back to the Ninja Saga Cheat Engine. It will come back and you will go to level 336.

There is a site which contains a chart of how each of the top 3 titles did this year, (it's in Japanese) and it appears as it is, a satisfaction survey that Media Create did to test how well a game sells based on 3 primary factors. Those being expectations before launch, post launch effectiveness, and an opinion category of whether a buyer would purchase another Metal Gear game in the near future. The Gradius series turns to the world of LEGOS with some interesting action figures to boot

LEGO this and LEGO that, you've seen all sorts of games and such see their LEGO versions of themselves. Well The famous Gradius has become no exception. Gradius has been reinvented I don't know how many times, and the more Gradius evolves into something else it seems, the more Gradius turns weird. So the world of LEGO has now encompassed the world of Gradius and from the picture below you can see what I mean. The Vic Viper, the infamous Gradius ship has seen a LEGO remake of about 193 ships in total. Somebody has a lot of time on their hands. X-Men The Arcade game hits Xbox Live Arcade Exclusively December 15th

Exclusively, temporarily that is. Here is the deal. The popular X-men the Arcade version has been confirmed by Konami to be released on Xbox Live Arcade this December 15th, and X-Men Arcade will be exclusive to XBLA for 2 months according to Konami. Both Europe and the US will see the release the 15th, and PS3 owners will not, until next February that is. That's the expected release time frame for PSN. X-Men Arcade will have cool features such as difficulty settings, match ups and even HD graphics to boot. Did I mention it supports up to 6 players at once online? Shame on me. Saw II Flesh and Blood gets a review for this unusual horror title

We know that when it comes to horror, Konami has all bases covered with its franchise of Silent Hill titles or even Silent Hill movies. Saw II Flesh and Blood has seen a review from the site at XboxGaming. From the screen shots there they look pretty amazing, but then again don't hold your breath because the review isn't all that approving of Saw II as it doesn't seem to stack up against any Silent Hill game titles according the review given. Saw II Flesh and Blood has been hailed somewhat as a torture porn and gore horror game. I guess it depends on your personal tastes. The review is pretty in depth and provides some quality shots of the game for you to get an idea of if this is the kind of game worth sinking your money into. Silent Hill the movie comes to iTunes recently for a cheap new price which should please some fans

If you download mp3s from iTunes store then you likely know they also do movies. The Silent Hill movie has now been put on iTunes in their movie section. New picture of a Silent Hill statue emerges, and boy is it creepy looking

Not too long ago I posted about this, in fact it's just a few posts down. I thought I'd share something else I found regarding Konami's release of the Silent Hill statues that are basically exclusive to japan and so far can only be bought through Konami themselves. If you saw in the last post those pictures were very detailed and really something to look at, although the price tag is very hefty for each one of them. Anyway, here is another Silent Hill game statue you probably didn't see yet and here it is below. Behold, your gonna raise an eyebrow when you see how much is being charged for it. Press coverage on how Konami hits like Dance Dance Revolution are helping youth

I found an interesting news story from a rather non-gaming site about Konami hits like Dance Dance Revolution and how they are actually helping to improve young people today. The story is located at AbcLocal along with a video of kids dancing to DDR or Dance Masters. I believe that's a DDR pad those two girls are using, I think. Anyway the story is about how these types of games will get you off lazy mode of being on the couch all the time and actually interacting with the game for a change.

Now movement or Konami games like Dance Dance Revolution or Dance Masters enable you to do a whole profile on yourself while it scans your whole body, and thus rendering you on screen as a part of the action. No longer is it just limited to the dance pad or DDR pad, but now you become an integrated part of the experience. Publisher of Def Jam Rapstar joines forces with Atlantic Records UK to bring some new music to the scene

You know the name, Def Jam Rapstar. You might not know the official site which is located at DefJamRapstar and is home to where you can upload your own personal performances by making use of the games in-game freestyle mode, a nice feature this Konami game introduced. Now it's taken a step further in that Konami has joined with Atlantic Records UK to find Britain's best new rapper, with a special prize of being offered their own record deal. From the source today reads as follows.

"The top UK rappers, as voted for by the community, will then be invited to battle it out live on Def Jam Rapstar’s freestyle mode at regional qualifiers, held at select HMV stores across the country during February 2011 and judged by the audience in attendance, ‘8 Mile style’.

The new Metal Gear Rising, what are its features and who is in it?

That's the question I keep getting and people are wondering so much. Metal Gear Rising, what's the storyline, features, and who is in it. Now that Solid Snake is somewhat out of the picture, the focus is now on Raiden. Remember he made sort of a cameo appearance in the Metal Gear game Guns of the Patriots. Well your in a little bit of luck because the folks at ComputersAndVideoGames have taken what anyone possibly knows about the upcoming Metal Gear game Rising at this point and have dissected it for all its worth. There are about 23 screen shots as well and if you haven't seen the existing trailer for it, it's there also. I know all the buzz about the new Metal Gear is exciting, but don't let it keep you up at night, Konami has emphasized that this Metal Gear game Rising won't see a release next year, 2011, but in 2012. Pyramid Head leaves the Silent Hill series and heads to your house thanks to Konami Style

For about the right amount of money that is. Konami Style has released a solid resin statue of Pyramid Head from the famous Silent Hill game series and from the pictures at Kotaku you can get a close up idea of how finely detailed it is, almost as if he left the Silent Hill game and became petrified in real life. You can tell from the photo below how fine the artwork and precision the Pyramid Head statue has. But not so fast, the price tag might knock you for a loop. First, it's only being released in Japan, and second, the price is stated at a whopping 25,200 yen. That's about $300 in USD.
