It must be birthday or anniversary madness this year. Why is that?, because not only does this year mark the 25th anniversary of the Castlevania game series, but in just a few days Japanese gamers will get to enjoy the original Castlevania game for purchase on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. Some of you might not have even been born as of yet. The original Castlevania goes far back to 1987 for North America and Europe, but even further back to September 26, 1986, when it was called Akumajõ Dracula and was released on the Famicom Computer Disk System, sort of the 8-bit Nes equal, but with a disk drive system.
Japanese gamers can purchase the original Castlevania game next week on October 17th for 500 yen. The Nintendo eShop in Japan currently has over 100 titles to choose from as of right now.
