Now that both the new Pro Evolution Soccer game and FIFA 2013 is out, what is the final verdict? Let's start here, going back to 2009, it was right around the time the PES started to stagnate a bit. There was too much automation in the control structure of PES, and a lack of other control features over things like "pass and shot" wasn't exactly cutting it well with soccer fans. The one goal Konami games development had in mind this time around was to concentrate on granting full control back to the player and completely revamp the system, adding additional licensing, team elements, and so fourth. So now that the new Pro Evolution Soccer game is out and going head to head with FIFA, how does it stack up?
After playing PES 2013 for a while, I would have to say it at least holds its own in comparison to FIFA this year. Konami did what they said they would do, and it's showing well in their new release. It takes some getting used to the control mechanism, but once I got that down, I started playing better. Sometime this month Konami is supposed to be releasing two downloadable content packages. The first is said to be free for download, but I believe the second downloadable content pack is going to have a fee charged for it. Both packs from what I understand will have some team elements added to PES and I believe some add on licensed teams to go with it. As soon as I get more word on it I'll post about it here. Check out one of the latest videos below with a face off between NK Dinamo Zagreb and Manchester United. It lasts longer than 8 minutes and shows off the new Pro Evolution Soccer game and some of its features.
