The original Castlevania from the old NES 8-bit days finds its way to your living room once again via the Nintendo eShop

It was supposedly going to be somewhat of a lead up to Castlevania Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, but for some reason it was delayed for a few weeks. If you are in my age group, and some of you just might be then you know exactly what I'm talking about. Turn back the clock to 1987, when the original Castlevania was first introduced. It sparked a new style of game play, with its whipping action, destroying candles to gain points and power ups like holy water, time stop device and so fourth. We were given a new hero to worship, Simon Belmont. The original Castlevania was such a big hit, it sparked yet another and another hit title one right after the other. Nowadays, too many gamers have been desensitized by the introduction of 3D Castlevania games like Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness.

Now you can relive those classic days gone old once again thanks to the release of the classic Castlevania from the 8-bit NES days for the Nintendo eShop. First it landed on the Wii Virtual console a while back, and now the fans can take it on the road anywhere they choose, while enjoying that whip cracking goodness that classic gamer fans are well familiar with.
