This is one year that Yu-Gi-Oh! is really taking off. It must be the year of the ultimate dueling battlefront for players, and Central America is one location that someone will win, and win big time in the end. Just ten days from now, if you live in or around the San Jose, Costa Rica area, or just want to travel there and want to compete with other duelists in a Yu-Gi-Oh! championship then you're in luck. The event starts April 20th-21st and hundreds upon hundreds will be dueling and fighting to the very end in hopes of making it to Sundays final round, where there will be only two left. The last player standing will get a trophy as a reward, among other items such as a Playstation 3 with a 500gb hard drive, a YCS game mat, and a special invitation to the 2013 World Championship Qualifier tournament.
Oh, and let's not forget our younger audience. Yes. If you were born after the year 2000, you can participate in the Dragon Duel challenge. The last four players standing will receive some very cool items such as a regional game mat, deck box, an invitation to the Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier, plus a special Dragon Duel Champion's Medal. Not too bad eh? Konami has their wing over the younger Yu-Gi-Oh! fans too, something they do quite well. You're going to need to take care of your pre registration on the 19th however, if you want to get in on the action. I myself can't wait to see who the finalist and winner is, probably because I want to see the prizes that he or she won so I can drool over them.
If you want a ton of more information on this event, and every question you might have about it, you can do so right now by heading to the official FAQ page for it. All other info and updates regarding anything Yu-Gi-Oh! related can be found at the same root domain, complete with event dates and other items. Your language should also be supported there as well. Meanwhile, check out a video from an event that took place last year at a regional event. Quite a number cards on display in such a large place.
