This is an interesting article done by the folks at Silconera a few days ago that revealed that the Castlevania game Lords of Shadow was originally not intended to be called Castlevania in its title name. Dave Cox was confronted by Hideo Kojima after Mercury Steam demonstrated a demo of Lords of Shadow and Kojima wanted to know why it wasn't being called Castlevania Lords of Shadow and just Lords of Shadow. The team was a bit shy about the matter and then Hideo replied that he wanted to lend a hand to the project and help out. This is how the orientation of Konami game headquarters and Mercury Steam ended up partnering together to make the new Castlevania game title.
What we currently know now is that Hideo Kojima, that is, the Konami game company isn't helping out with the next two Castlevania games Mirror of Fate and Lords of Shadow 2. Now something I would really like to see in the future is a full return of Castlevania to its roots, like the classic Castlevania Symphony Night or Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse. The series is starting to sway from what put it on the map if you ask me.
