Here is another interesting article with Dave Cox making a statement about downloadable content and how it was a failure for the last Castlevania Lords of Shadow. The Konami game developer seemed to have suggested that it should not have been done in the same manner that Mass Effect 3 was. Dave made this statement a few days ago:
"I'm not a big fan of most modern day DLC. I think if DLC is going to be done it has to compliment the main game—not be a continuation of the main story but more of a side story...there's a market for it—but I think people want to get value for their money so I think that in that respect you need to give them an expansion of the universe you've created. Like what they've done with Skyrim. "
Since Dave Cox is also working on the next big Castlevania game titles like Lords of Shadow 2 and Mirror of Fate, I hope that the same mistake won't take place again and we can expect some better quality downloadable content that expand our game play experience and give more for our money.
