You can't keep a good game down, especially one like Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth, a title that took off back in late December of 2009. Fans were eager to get their hands on this redone WiiWare title, and for good reason too. It was The Adventure redone with all new graphics and updated music! There were quite a number of other Castlevania titles that landed on the Wii Virtual Console, including the original from back in the late 1980s. For me personally I looked forward mostly to Super Castlevania IV and Castlevania III Dracula's Curse. After all, you can never have too much of a good thing right?, and The Adventure would've cost you a modest 1000 Wii points, or $10 if you want to look at it that way.
Well here we are now on March 16th 2013, and as I was searching around for some new material to share with you, I noticed a cool looking blog that had reported some new statistics regarding this WiiWare hit. They are called "coffeewithgames" and according to their information, The Adventure Rebirth landed 16,044 U.S. Wii owners and well over 60,000 hours of solid game play amongst them. Each player played about 3 hours and 50 minutes per person, averaging about 44 minutes per day. Konami has raked in about $160,440 in total Wii sales and MetaCritic gave it a 9.3 out of 10, based on 31 ratings. That's not too bad for a classic game that was released on the Gameboy so long ago. I have to admit that I'm impressed by those numbers, and I hope they keep on climbing for a good while.
So for those of you who might be new to Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth, let's bring you up to speed on it a bit with some screen shots and a couple of game play trailers you can eyeball to get a feel of what it's like and something that you might want to added to your own Castlevania arsenal.
