If you're a big time fan of the Suikoden series, you might be one of the many people that have been hanging around Konami's FaceBook page lately. Why is that? Probably because it's been quite a while since we've heard any new announcements regarding a new Suikoden title in development. Neither North America or Europe have seen any new news regarding Suikoden in a long time. So this is what happened. Fans of the the series have started their own Revival Movement FaceBook page in an attempt to get Konami games development to address the lackluster of a new title, and of course the worldwide distribution of both Suikoden 1 & 2, which is their number one main goal for the movement. Here is what they are saying on FaceBook recently about the matter:
"You are welcome to ask for Suikoden VI or to end spin offs set in different worlds. You are welcome to ask about anything Suikoden related. However, please be aware that getting Suikoden I and Suikoden II, released worldwide on the various digital distribution platforms, is our main aim at this present moment.
If possible, try to keep your message short. But try and put your heart into it! Your unique way of expressing your passion is sure to catch Konamis' eye. Please try to be polite with your posts and not rude, offensive or overly demanding.
If you are unsure what to write, simply ''Please release Suikoden I and Suikoden II on PSN, XBL, Steam, Android and iOS worldwide.'' is good enough."
That's just a sample of the many posts thereafter that were done in response to a revival of Suikoden, and Konami's own FaceBook page has been getting quite a hammering about the issue in return. But the new question to ask is, will Konami listen and release Suikoden 1 & 2 for a digital worldwide distribution? The answer to that is basically, not right at this moment. But they did respond with something a bit positive, and here is that response:
"Dear Suikoden fans,
It's incredible to see the outpouring of support from our fans for the Suikoden series. We love Suikoden, too! In fact, we have several huge fans in Konami's own offices.
Sadly, we have no new announcements regarding the Suikoden series at this time. We appreciate the feedback and encourage an open and honest discussion with you, our fans, on as many channels as possible.
So please, continue to let your opinion be heard! We are listening.
And for those that haven't had the pleasure of experiencing this classic RPG series, Suikoden 1 is currently available for download as a PS1 Classic on PlayStation Network."
With that having been said, I did mention about the matter that it was a "bit positive", and I say that because at least now Konami knows the Suikoden fan base is out there and has an idea of the demand they have for it. Perhaps we may see some new announcements for it sometime this year if we are lucky, something the Suikoden revival movement has been wanting for a long time now. For those of you who are new to the series, feel free to check out a few videos below, including the Rivival Movement video and see if Suikoden is something you too would love to see make a comeback.
