The Metal Gear series is really aggressive this year, and for good reason of course, as this year marks the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear franchise itself. To commemorate this Konami has decided to re-release Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots. A couple of UK stores have a listing ready to go for a 25th anniversary edition of Guns of the Patriots, listed at £19.99. That's about $30 US. Metal Gear Solid 4 was launched back in 2008, where it also shined online with MGO, or Metal Gear Online. Normally the downloadable content was suited for that alone, and since MGO was shut down by Konami back in June of this year, it's too bad there will be no online mode for the 25th anniversary edition.
What does this mean for this re-release of MGS4?, there is no mention as to whether or not it will come with any extras. There was however the Trophy patch along with a full install option that took place in Japan this past summer. Does that mean this special edition will have that same support? It just might, this November 30th is the set release date that the two stores in the UK have posted on their site, and here are the links for them so you can see for yourself, if you're interested in seeing what it looks like and just might purchase it.
