Konami has released an update for Silent Hill HD collection with new fixes

Konami games headquarters has released a new title update for the Silent Hill HD collection for PS3 that you can download via the Playstation Network. Now on to the bad news, Konami has also stated that you Xbox 360 owners are going to have to wait a bit longer to download your update for your Silent Hill game collection. In a press release recently, here is what Konami had to say:

"Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that while a PlayStation 3 online title update for Silent Hill HD Collection has been deployed for download via PlayStation Network, plans for an XBOX 360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources."

"Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, KONAMI issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the XBOX 360 sku"

So there you have it, I know it's a pain to wait for fixes like this, but I guess these days its a normal reality that we have to live with. Konami offers a free game for those who purchased the Silent Hill HD collection on or before August 8th this year

Konami games company is offering a free game from a list of Konami titles to choose from. You must have bought your Silent Hill collection also from a recognized retailer and then send the receipt in as proof of purchase to Konami to verify. Here is the statement they made:

"If you purchased Silent Hill HD Collection for the Xbox 360 new and from a recognized retailer, and still have the original receipt, please send your receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and further details on how to exchange your product. This offer is only valid for Silent Hill HD Collection (XBOX 360 sku) games purchased on or before 08.08.2012. All requests must be made in writing and submitted on or before 10.07.2012 and is subject to availability. Any inquiries received after this date will not fall under this exchange program. This offer valid for purchases made in North and South America."

"Note: The patch for Silent Hill: Downpour for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is still currently in development and scheduled for release at a later date."

This is quite a list of Konami games so it shouldn't be too hard for Konami to win over some after having to deal with the issues that plagued the Silent Hill game collection. Let's hope Silent Hill Downpour gets its proper patches real soon because I know some folks out there are having a bad weekend with that one as well. Silent Hill HD collection for PS3 gets patched and fixes some minor in game issues

It finally happened. Konami games headquarters has finally made a patch for the Silent Hill HD collection for the PS3, which was the most desired one so far. Tomm Hulett made a few comments on why all of these bugs in the Silent Hill game collection occurred in the first place. This is what he had to say about the whole mess according to a post done at GameZone today:

"We got all the source code that Konami had on file — which it turns out wasn't the final release version of the games!"
"During debug we didn't just have to deal with the expected 'porting' bugs, but also had to squash some bugs that the original team obviously removed prior to release, but we'd never seen before.
"I think at one point Heather was blue,"

This new patch Konami games company has released is supposed to fix various video and audio issues. In some places music and sound were missing, while in some places there were problems with the fog. The frame rate problem is also getting a fix from this patch. Currently there is no word yet as to a release date about a patch for the Xbox 360 version of the Silent Hill game collection, but as soon as it's known I'll definitely post about it here

Speaking of the latest Silent Hill Downpour, what about the new collection redone in HD?

Missed this one a few days ago for those of you wondering if you should pick up the Silent Hill HD collection. Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 are among them and there is a review if you want to check out located at PcMag that's a bit informative. Each Silent Hill game has been revamped with 720p and looks really nice according to the screen shots there. Or better yet, check out the video below for a nice review done about it.

Silent Hill HD collection review now available for the masses out there, and let's hope it still continues to scare us

Most of you remember the first few classic Silent Hill titles from long ago right? Now that the HD collection is out and about it's time to see if they stack up as hoped for. Prepare for somewhat of a let down this time. The original Silent Hill and the PSP game origins is not among this collection as there seems to be only two Konami games in the HD collection itself. The Metal Gear game HD collection gave us more than this set has done. However it is not a total loss. The screenshot below is quite nice.
