Only a thousand new Metal Gear watches will be sold for Rising Revengeance so you might want to hurry

Thứ Ba, 11 tháng 12, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

OK, what do we have so far with the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance stamped all over it? A game, plasma lamp, steel case, soundtrack, action figures, downloadable content.....did I miss anything? Oh I guess I did, a Metal Gear watch for your wrist!, how could I ever forget that. Well, we all might forget it real soon, because guess what?, Konami is only producing about a thousand of them, and the price of each and every one of them? How about 36,750 yen, or $445 U.S. Now that's a pretty expensive watch, albeit built by Seiko. Yeah, looks like Seiko and Konami games development have struck some kind of deal, and you just know that even at that price these watches are probably going to sell out real quick. You can expect to purchase these babies if your interested by the middle of next February. That's right before or likely right at the same date that the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance gets released. I'm sure that's no coincidence of course.

Now without further delay, here is the official one and only site where you can purchase one of these wristwatches, or at least look at the site and check it out if you're just curious about it. It's located at the Japanese site KonamiStyle, and you might want to translate that page if you don't speak Japanese and need more information about it. As for the game Rising Revengeance itself, you can expect its release next February 19th on both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 systems respectively. This is also the same date that the cool Limited Edition box set also comes out, which has that awesome plasma lamp some folks really want on their shelves. Now check out those images below and comment on what you think of those gems.

The final episode of the new Castlevania movie is out for the showdown fight scene between Simon Belmont and Lord Dracula

| 0 nhận xét

It's out, and many of you couldn't wait as I know I couldn't for the final showdown fight between Simon Belmont and Lord Dracula. No spoiler alerts here, as you really need to enjoy every second of this for yourself as I just did. For those of you who still might not know, I'm talking of course about the new Castlevania game based movie called Castlevania Hymn of Blood. This is a "high budget" fan based movie with stars like Michael Dorn (Star Trek The Next Generation) who plays a wear wolf in it, and does a fine job of it as well. It's apart of IGN's START channel and contains 7 total episodes in all, not including a special behind the scenes episode which showcases the effort that went into production of this precious gem. As for a fan based film, Hollywood take note, you've toyed around with the idea of a Castlevania movie for far too long, and a group of ambitious fans and actors got together and made one thing crystal clear, that you can make a Castlevania movie have it be successful.

This final episode 7 shows the mission of Reinhardt, Simon Belmont, and Sophia to Dracula's castle, and the final showdown fight between our beloved Simon and Lord Dracula himself, something we've all been waiting for a while now. Also once again I want to point out that the Castlevania Hymn of Blood production team wants you and everyone else to know that they are in no way affiliated with Konami, let alone endorsed by them. Konami however is pretty cool with the matter, or has decided to turn the other cheek, which is also fine. Just a legal matter that needed to be addressed for those of you who might be concerned about it. Also, one question comes to mind about Hymn of Blood. Given that this movie is as successful as I think it will be once more people find out about it, could this be the start of a new series? Perhaps the next Castlevania movie will involve the story of Alucard. Let's cross our fingers and hope so. Now what are you waiting for?, sit back, relax and enjoy the fight scene with Simon Belmont and Dracula with the final video below. Or for those of you who have missed any or all of the previous episodes and want to watch it all from the beginning, you can do so right now by heading over to IGN's START channel, which by the way also contains some other goodies for you to watch and enjoy. Comment and let me know what you think about the movie and what you would like to see in future Castlevania films. I would be interested to know what you think about it. Have fun!

Tales From Orth Nation!

Adam Orth: great friend, great designer, and all around bad ass!

Adam and I worked together on and off over the years and two of the games we worked on were HEARTLAND and CALLING ALL CARS.

He shot me some pics from some of design docs yesterday and I thought I'd share.

Been super busy so no time to dive into too much context at the moment, but figured they prob speak for themselves anyway. So here ya go :)...

HEARTLAND: Was going to be a return to more old school, opened up single player (and co-op) Goldeneye/Doom II style level design. Plus a little Deus Ex thrown in, in terms of multiple solves, as much emergence as we could intentionally create (not the mention the happy surprises):

Note: This ONLY woulda been an escort mission if you played it ONE way :). You could also get a sniper rifle AND turn on the power in the theme park (this level was gonna be like Disneyland meets Red Dawn). Doing so would let you activate the ferris wheel that you could use to ride up to a killer vantage point that would allow you to snipe the single enemy that was leading the troops that were trying to stop your buddy from getting away. Kill that guy and mission over. Your co-opbuddy could have also played the dude trying to escape. So there! :)

CALLING ALL CARS: Amazing imagery as ALWAYS by the one and only John Wu!

John is a stunningly talented concept artist/game developer with stunning skills and the uncanny ability to swap between pretty much any art style and BLOW YOU AWAY with all of them! I really do think the guy is a mute!  Don't believe me?!? Ask Professor X, asshole! :)... or Please check out his FANTASTIC work at his site.

Ok, gotta get back to it! Later ya'll!

And thanks Adam for this great blast from the past!

An incredible new Metal Gear trailer is out showcasing a massive boss battle

Chủ Nhật, 9 tháng 12, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

Incredible doesn't do this video justice. Just as I thought these video releases couldn't get any better, Konami games development comes along and proves me wrong. This is the latest video trailer for the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance and really showcases what this game is made of. You're not going to believe your eyes when you see it, I mean, good grief, there is one part where Raiden is using missiles as a staircase to get to a boss that must be 40 stories high. That's as far as I'm going to spoil it for you, as you have to witness this yourself in all its glory. There are actually 2 recent videos that are out now, the latest one I just mentioned is the first one below, and the one that came out a few days ago is the second one down. I thought I'd go ahead and post that one here too in case you missed the article I did a while back. The first is a rather short, but very pleasant boss battle that lasts about 4 and a half minutes, the second is about 4 minutes and features more of a game play experience rather than boss battles. Both are worth checking out and should give you a better insight as to whether or not the new Metal Gear game is getting on your hot list next year.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance will launch on both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 systems this coming February 19th. Time is also running out for the limited edition set that comes with a full soundtrack, steel case, a cool looking plasma lamp, and a few other goodies included for those who manage to get theirs reserved before it's too late. Enjoy the new videos and comment on what you think about them so far!
