The new Konami hit Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 has seen a significant price reduction as a tribute to over 1 million copies being sold in Latin America alone. The latest Pro Evolution Soccer game originally released in September of last year has been reduced for 3 formats including Pc, Xbox360 and Playstation 3 console systems. We are getting a lot of nice mails from developers lately... not sure yet if I am annoyed by the spam or pleased that I don't have to do any research of my own :p These must be the benefits of real journalists who always get these nice offers from lobbying firms to write fair and balanced articles for them (yeah, I included some social commentary in this blog!).
So... what was in my spam folder lately? Stunt-Rally got an version 1.5 release (changelog here) which a prominent new feature: multiplayer!
You can find a small guide to set up a multiplayer game here. Not sure if player collision is also implemented... it would be cool however ;)
In general I really think the physics are too bouncy however... not sure if that hits the nail, but something feels off about them. Also... "LOD popping" trees is soo last century :p
Over the years- be it working for a publisher or working for a developer- we'd often make videos for 'green light meetings'. These are meetings where company execs from various departments (product development, marketing, sales,etc.) get together to review the company's upcoming slate. Sometimes an actual green light is given or denied based on the meeting, but more often than not it's called a 'green light meeting' but it's more of a global review so everyone gets on the same page.
This is one such video that we made for Twisted Metal. It shows a number of variations on the modes, UI, and gameplay that ultimately made it into the final version of PS3 Twisted Metal.
Watching this I have a few thoughts:
a-I miss CHASE TO VEGAS tons...really wanted that to work but there just was not time :(...
b- Man we tried a thousand different HUD/UI (User Interface) configs as well as a shite ton of weapon power up visuals...
c- forgive my performance but a) if I recall I was getting over a cold and b) I was a little too 'Up With People' for my own liking :)...

Hey all- first part of this post is all about the new Twisted Metal patch that is going to hit soon.
Around 11 min in, I start talking about where we're at with the new game. Not really any key info I can share, just a sort of 'here is what is up with the new game' kind of post.
Konami game company has a way of teasing us by giving us hints, but this one might get taken seriously by Castlevania game fans alike. It seems that David Cox posted something on his page at Twitter by making this statement:
"Today and tomorrow I am in the land of Dracul… What am I doing there?? You will see…. :)"
Well that is basically it, that's all he said. Is he really in the land of Transylvania, maybe and maybe not. But to make a statement like that there are bound to be Castlevania game fans out there who are asking questions and wondering what David Cox is actually talking about. A possible sequel to the hit Castlevania game "Lords of Shadow" perhaps? Right now you know as much as I do and as more information comes along I will definitely post it here. Stay tuned.
