United Health Care and Dance Dance Revolution Classroom Edition join forces to help fight against childhood obesity problems

Too many burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, and no where near enough exercise to offset it all. That is one problem many kids these days are facing when it comes to childhood obesity. But how to inspire them to get into the spirit of exercise has always been a big concern that needs some serious solving. That's where Dance Dance Revolution has come into play, or rather Dance Dance Revolution Classroom Edition. Konami games development and United Health Care have joined forces and announced today at the International Consumer Electronics Show the new DDR Classroom Edition title which has already been in use in three different schools including places like Fresno, Texas, Longwood, Florida, and Gainesville, Georgia. The new DDR title features elements like a wireless mat controller with a smart card reader, and up to 48 students can participate at any one given time.

Teachers can then monitor the health status of classmates and keep a watchful eye on physical elements such as body mass, calorie burning and so on. The new DDR title is said to be an "Exergame", meaning it takes the concept of a physical workout and combines it with music and visual elements. If your in the Las Vegas area, you can head over to the United Health Care booth #25515 where DDR Classroom Edition is currently on display starting from today, January 8th, until the 11th. There will be other health related items there for you to see as well.

Ever since Dance Dance Revolution was first introduced years ago, it has taught us all one important lesson about exercise. It doesn't have to be a nightmare and can actually be enjoyable and fun. It brought the power of music and visual arts and combined it with physical activity while making the whole process a real health benefit. Along the way it also inspired other companies to sort of make their own spin off titles, but in the end Dance Dance Revolution has always and will always be in a class by itself. The soundtrack to DDR games has been on the fans wish list every time a new title hits the store shelves or arcades. So off we go to see some cool images and watch a couple of videos below so you can get an idea of what this whole thing is about. Who knows, you might be a woman reading this who attends an aerobics class and decide you need some new material to move to. Dance Dance Revolution Classroom Edition just might be your thing.

There will be "no chance" for a Wii-U version of Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 when it releases

For you Nintendo fans this may come as a big disappointment. For the longest time the one thing that Nintendo has really lacked in the Wii department has been a great Castlevania game adventure. Sure there was the 3D versus Castlevania fighter years ago called Judgment. But really now, is that basically the end of the road for it all? The answer might upset you. Konami games development was contacted recently by way of Twitter and was basically asked this question. "Will the Wii U get some LOS 2 love?" The reply?, Dave Cox who is the head of the development team for Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 gave this response soon afterwards. "Sorry to disappoint you but no chance." This is likely do to the hardware differences of the Wii-U versus the PS3 and Xbox360 systems. It might also be that a Wii-U version of the game might not be a huge seller as Konami would have hoped. This is all just speculation of course, as the "no chance" response that Dave Cox made is all we know as of right now. So you can expect three formats only when Lord of Shadow 2 makes its release in the future, whenever that date will be since no exact date has been set for it yet. Formats include Xbox360, PS3, and PC.

Don't feel left out of the popular crowd my fellow Nintendo fans, because you're going to get your hands on the awesome Castlevania Mirror of Fate for your 3DS handheld system. Yes, you and only you. We have that in our clutches at least. That time will come soon enough, as Mirror of Fate has a set release date of March 5th for North America, and a March 8th release set for Europe. In case you may have missed one of the more recent trailers for Mirror of Fate, you can check it out below. The bottom one is the last most recent trailer for Lords of Shadow 2 as well. As soon as more becomes known for either Castlevania game, I will definitely post it here as soon as I catch wind of it. UK fans will enjoy a new "Kai Raiden" action figure with the limited edition Metal Gear game next month

It's a new year, and it's time for some more Metal Gear game news. This one is aimed at you folks in the UK. Why is that? Because Play Arts is releasing a special "Kai Raiden" action figure around about the same time as the new limited edition of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance makes its way to the store shelves next month. The figure models will come in both black and white versions of Raiden, and will feature some fine detailed elements as you can see from the images below. There isn't an exact date that is set for the new figure models, but here is something solid you can chew on. If you head right now over to a UK based online store called Zavvi (interesting name), you will see a limited edition of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance box set that comes with the white version of the Kai Raiden action figure. As I write this they currently have it listed for £99.99. Play Arts usually sell a lot of their items for much more than that, so I'm considering that this is likely a pretty good deal. 

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance will make its way to store shelves in North America next month on February 19th. This is for both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 console systems. You folks in the UK will see your release just a few short days later on February 22nd.
