25 years of the Castlevania series and how it evolved from 2D into a 3D universe

I found an interesting article done about the beloved Castlevania series that was made by the folks at MultiplayerBlog. It generally discusses how Castlevania has come a long way and evolved over the years, even making multiple attempts to wedge itself in the 3D universe, sometimes failing in the process. Over the past 25 years out of all the 2D Castlevania game hits that have been released I personally believe that Symphony of the Night has to be the pinnacle of them all. I remember buying it for a friend of mine for his birthday and he had the time of his life, playing it all the way through until he finished it completely.
