Get ready to dive back into Rising Revengeance with the new downloadable content pack for Jetstream Sam

And you thought you had finished Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Nope, not by a long shot. Last week I posted about you being able to download some new content this week featuring Jetstream Sam as a playable character. Well today is the day for it. As of right now, you can download the new DLC pack for Sam, which will in turn give you some awesome new and unique abilities to trash your enemies with. This includes a side story for Jetstream Sam, as well as multiple hours of game play to really get your money's worth. What will this cost you? Its purchase price is $9.99 and is available on both Xbox Live and Playstation Network. The fun just never stops with MGR does it? Let's hope it stays that way for a good while. This is one game that's been on the back burner in the production realm for quite a while. But now that it's out we have multiple options to look forward to.

It doesn't stop there by the way. In the merrily merrily month of May, which isn't too far away you can also look forward to the "Blade Wolf Pack". This will make the vicious Blade Wolf a playable character as well, and he has his own side story to go with it. I say keep them coming, as you can never get too much of a good thing right? So check out the video below which showcases the trailer for this new pack and see if you feel like taking a slash or two back into Rising Revengenace with some new action to boot.

A new price reduction has taken place for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on Amazon recently

It looks like the boys over at Amazon have done it again, as there has been a new price reduction already for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. I wonder if this is just coincidental, as it has been almost exactly one month since the release of it. The new price Amazon has has posted for it is 17% lower than its launch date price, which brings it down to $47.99, that's from its original price tag of $59.99. Not too bad eh? Now this applies of course to both the Playstation 3 and Xbox360 versions of the game respectively. The limited edition packages are still running for $198.00, while used ones are listed currently for $156.29.

Now about the latest downloadable content for those of you who might've missed it a few days ago. You're not going to want to miss out on this one one. The latest DLC features a whopping 30 new VR missions, some are for our beloved Raiden, while a few others are for those cute 3 armed Gekko robots you see throughout the game. There is also a really cool part where the spirit of Solid Snake returns to assist Raiden through a wooden katana sword called "Hebidamashii", or "Snake Spirit". He speaks through the sword to help Raiden by commenting on what action is taking place. If Raiden is kicking some butt, Solid Snake compliments him, if Raiden gets hurt, he asks if he is OK. Just when you thought Snake was gone, he seems to return in the form of a ghost or something?

Now this is the sad part, which applies to Xbox360 owners. This new downloadable content is only going to be exclusive to PS3 owners out there. There is no glory yet for 360 owners as of yet, but don't worry, it's still early in the ball game, as more DLC should be on the horizon for you Xbox owners to enjoy as well. The PS3 DLC is now available as of March 12th, and then again in Europe as of March 14th. You can take a good look at the trailer below which showcases some of the aspects of this new content before you decide to download it. I'm sure you'll find it quite appealing for those of you who are fans of the cool VR missions Rising Revengeance takes full advantage of. Cheers.

The spirit of Solid Snake lives through Hebidamashii with the first downloadable content for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

Looks like they found a way to bring Solid Snake back once again, except this time he's a ghost? That deserves and explanation doesn't it? Let's start from the beginning then, as this might take a while. First, in just a few days starting on March 12th until April the 3rd, IF you are a PS3 owner you will be able to download your first content for your Metal Gear Rising Revengeance game. It won't cost you a thing, and here is what you'll be getting for your free download soon. How about 30 brand new VR missions, some will be for Raiden, while some others will be using those handy little Gekko robots you see throughout the game. There is even a trailer that was just released a couple of days ago that demonstrates some nice action on both character formats if you want to give it a good watching.

Next is the really cool part, this is actually where Solid Snake plays a role in Rising Revengeance, something that took us all by surprise and thought we would never see happen, and yet it did. That is of course, within an incorporeal state of mind in this case simply because it's only the voice of Solid Snake, as if he is a ghost or something? At least that's the official story from what I've seen. Let me explain, among this new downloadable content is a special "wooden" katana (yes, I said wooden) sword called Hebidamashii, or "Snake Spirit", that after Raiden equips it, he can receive comments from Solid Snake himself, who compliments Raiden when fighting well, and asks about his condition when he gets hurt. Since this is in Japanese, a fellow on YouTube posted what Solid Snake was saying in the trailer below. Here it is......

"When he's fighting he's saying stuff like 'not bad' and when he gets hurt 'are you alright?"

"Then he says to 'Put your true heart into using the cardboard box. It's necessary to put love/passion into it. Treating it rough is not forgivable"

"Last part is 'This isn't training. It's a fight that costs life and death. Theres no heroes or heroine either. Losing is a dogs death"

Yoji Shinkawa's Metal Gear Solid ART Studio goes wild with your very own creations made by you

Metal Gear fans, and fans of Metal Gear art take note. If you love the art work of the series, and always wanted to get involved with it somehow, now is your chance. Konami has just released Yoji Shinkawa's Metal Gear Art Studio, and it uses the much favored same tools that Shinkawa uses to create those awesome looking characters, enemies, and bosses. This is also an all out competition and designed to do one thing, simply go nuts with Metal Gear art, and you are in the middle of it all. Your very own artwork will go head to head with others on an exclusive scheduled competition against other artists. Here is the current schedule for it.

18th Feb - 24th Feb: Raiden
25th Feb – 17th March: Mechs and Vehicles
18th March - 7th April: Snake
8th April – 28th April: Female Characters
29th April – 12th May: Male Characters

You might want to hurry and get into the action, or you can just dabble a bit and sit, watch, and be AMAZED at art being put together by others in "real-time". That's right, you can actually witness pieces being put together by other Metal Gear fans, exactly as it's happening in front of you. How do I get in on this cool action you ask? No problem, simply log into the official "Digital Drawing Board" website, and use your Twitter or FaceBook account user and password. Then scroll around the site to find art being made in real time, or find a canvas and you can make one yourself!

Here is the official information straight from Konami recently:

"This innovative METAL GEAR ART STUDIO allows fans to create artwork inspired by the series on an online canvas, and will be the ultimate in fan art from users across the globe, and allows users access to the same tools that Yoji Shinkawa favours, in the creation of his stunning illustrations. A complete set of digital brushes, pens and pencils can be used online, as can rulers, masking tape and various inks."

"Users log in to the METAL GEAR ART STUDIO via their Facebook or Twitter accounts and draw in real-time. Visitors can watch new items being added in real-time, or replay completed artwork to see how it was produced, they can also message artists whilst they are drawing and vote for or ‘Like’ their favourite pieces – with Shinkawa selecting the best every three weeks for exclusive prizes."

So there you have it, get in on the fun and you just might get the most votes for your work and win some cools prizes in return. I can't wait to see some of the winners of this whole thing. All the new artwork should be some really nice gems to see. There just might be a Metal Gear for the Nintendo Wii-U in your future

One of the things that's been on the minds of Nintendo fans in recent years, is the lack of a Metal Gear game for either the Wii, and now the Wii-U. Sure, you've had a number of titles for Nintendo's handheld system over the years, but a console version has yet to see the light of day. That's something that just might change one day, that is, if fans get their way. Let me shed some light on the matter. Just a day ago a Metal Gear fan asked the almighty question about a future Metal Gear game, particularly Metal Gear Rising Revengeance to none other than Jean Pierre Kellams, who is a translator for Platinum Games, the company behind the magic of Rising Revengeance.

The question was simply...."@PG_jp jw... what are the chances of MG:R getting a WiiU release 1 day? Touch screen would be cool for finishers and other shenanigans..."

The response from Jean...."@Fillytase Konami would have to see demand for it and bring us the request to port."

So there you have it, if the demand for it is great enough, you just might see Raiden hacking and slashing on your Wii-U someday. Or that might just be some wishful thinking, one can never tell. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance gets a dose of 3 new video trailers which show off some cool game play footage

We can never get too many of these little gems can we? Yeah, those new game play footage trailers for the latest Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, and I'm talking three of them this time. That's right, three! Let's start with the first one because I'm not sure which one I like the most, and you can decide that as well. The first is called the Zandatsu trailer and here is the description from the YouTube post:

"Cut what you will as you hack and slash your way through enemies using Blade Mode in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance! Enemies dynamically react to the direction and location of each and every cut, allowing you to decimate you enemies in the precise way you see fit. Can't wait to start your road to Revengeance? Download the demo today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network!"

The second is called the Suit Overview trailer and here is its description:

"Raiden has a whole new cyborg body, and a new bag of tricks in this trailer for METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE! Utilize Blade Mode to strategically cut through enemies, deflect bullets using Ninja Run and get the drop on your enemies by using your Enhanced AR (Augmented Reality). How will you best utilize your cyborg enhancements?"

Finally the last is called the Locations trailer and here is its description:

"From bright, shining skyscrapers, to desolate desert bases, to subterranean labyrinths, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is sure to take you on a whirlwind tour of all the hottest combat spots in the world! Which are you most excited to cut to ribbons with Blade Mode?"


Each trailer showcases some of the various features of the game and will give you a better understanding of how to survive in this awesome new Metal Gear game. I'd like to know which one is your personal favorite or if you just like all three of them and simply can't wait for this new title to hit the store shelves. You can expect Rising Revengeance in stores soon on February 19th in North America, while Europe will see its release just a few days later on February 21st. A new video trailer for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance shows off two costumes for Grey Fox and MGS4 version of Raiden

Long live the downloadable content! As we get ever so much closer to the next Metal Gear game Rising Revengance, many of you are that much more eager to see some new and juicy details about what kind elements are in it. Well try this on for size. Konami has released another video trailer that showcases two DLC costumes you can obtain for your your new Metal Gear game. One is the infamous Grey Fox costume that we all came to know and love back in the Metal Gear Solid days. The second is the Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots version of Raiden. From what I understand, neither suit actually gives any extra ability as far as weapons or destructive force goes, so they are basically there just for good looks. The video shows both costumes in use during game play just to give you an idea of what they look like in action. After viewing the video, my money is on the Grey Fox costume, that guy was just too cool.

Also keep in mind that this month Konami will be releasing the demo for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance out on the Playstation Network and Xbox360 Live formats for you to download. Those of you who purchased the new Zone of the Enders HD collection should already have the demo in your clutches. The new Metal Gear game is set to release in North America on February 19th, while others will see their release on the 21st just a couple of days later. The same applies to the limited edition of the game, which contains some extra goodies like a plasma lamp, soundtrack, and steel case. Oh and by the way, is the game play for Rising a bit of a hassle for you as far as learning how to use Raiden and make use of all his moves? Perhaps you need a training video to help you out. The bottom video is a training tutorial that will show you how to strut Raiden's stuff around. The top one is the new video which shows off the Grey Fox and Raiden costumes. Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong Language, the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance gets an "M" rating from the ESRB

The verdict is now in. There has almost always been a controversy over violence in video games, and how they might affect certain individuals. That particular audience is usually of the young variety. This is no exception when it comes to the latest Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance. Why is that?, because the ESRB has given it an "M" rating, which is for a "Mature" audience. Their reason of course is the fact that Rising Revengeance contains Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong Language. This particular post I'm doing when it comes to reporting this latest news piece is basically aimed at the parents out there who might have children that are looking forward to the new Metal Gear game. Here is the complete explanation directly from the official ESRB website:

Content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language
Rating summary: This is an action game in which players assume the role of Raiden, a cybernetic soldier on a mission to stop a futuristic terrorist organization. I think this is probably the first time in the four years I've been blogging here that I did a post about a video game rating. But then again, I try to cover just about everything Konami related. Different parents sometimes have different viewpoints about what their offspring should or should not be exposed to, so the ESRB rating was basically born out of a necessity. A new screen is released showing off a Cyborg Ninja costume for the next Metal Gear game

No wonder people want to have a Metal Gear cosplay outfit when they see this. Konami games development has graced us with an all new screenshot that shows off the Cyborg Ninja costume. It sort of looks like this is a camera shot of a Konami employee's computer perhaps? Anyway, as you can see the new shot shows just how awesome the ninja outfit looks like, and what we can expect as apart of the new Metal Gear game's features. You can also check out a few of the other recent shots below, including a more close up look at the cool Metal Gear Rising Revengeance plasma lamp. If you want that puppy, you had better act now, because it's only apart of the limited edition set, and I'm not even sure there are very many, if any of them left. Konami only produced so many of them, and as of right now as I write this post Amazon still has them in stock. How long it'll stay that way is the next question.

You can expect to see Metal Gear Rising Revengeance hit the store shelves in North America this coming February 19th. Both Playstation 3 and Xbox360 consoles will see their copies respectively. The bottom image is the content of the entire limited edition set for those of you who decide to get that version instead of the normal one. An incredible new Metal Gear trailer is out showcasing a massive boss battle

Incredible doesn't do this video justice. Just as I thought these video releases couldn't get any better, Konami games development comes along and proves me wrong. This is the latest video trailer for the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance and really showcases what this game is made of. You're not going to believe your eyes when you see it, I mean, good grief, there is one part where Raiden is using missiles as a staircase to get to a boss that must be 40 stories high. That's as far as I'm going to spoil it for you, as you have to witness this yourself in all its glory. There are actually 2 recent videos that are out now, the latest one I just mentioned is the first one below, and the one that came out a few days ago is the second one down. I thought I'd go ahead and post that one here too in case you missed the article I did a while back. The first is a rather short, but very pleasant boss battle that lasts about 4 and a half minutes, the second is about 4 minutes and features more of a game play experience rather than boss battles. Both are worth checking out and should give you a better insight as to whether or not the new Metal Gear game is getting on your hot list next year.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance will launch on both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 systems this coming February 19th. Time is also running out for the limited edition set that comes with a full soundtrack, steel case, a cool looking plasma lamp, and a few other goodies included for those who manage to get theirs reserved before it's too late. A new trailer emerges for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

As we draw ever so closer to that almighty release date for the next Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance, the controversy over it gets more and more heat. With that last video trailer we all witnessed showcasing the awesome moves of Raiden, only one thing was on our minds afterwards. Can we get some more? Because that last one was made from the demo version that came with the Zone of the Enders HD collection, for those of you familiar with that one. Now a new trailer has finally emerged and oh boy, what a trailer! This one really shows off Raiden's moves, hacking and slicing enemies into pieces, and it even slows the motions down so you can see exactly what Raiden does when he performs each move. This is probably the best trailer so far and should get you pumped up and that much more eager when Metal Gear Rising Revengeance finally makes its debut February 19th 2013. Happy Thanksgiving, along with some fresh images of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and here is something for you to be thankful about. Konami games development has seen fit to release some fresh images for the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance. As you can see below, the production of Revengeance is coming along rather nicely. Those of you who bought the Zone of the Enders HD collection and now own the demo, have already had a taste of its actual game play mechanics. You've probably worn it out by now, and I can't blame you for that. There are about 15 new screen shots in all that have just been released, so if you would like to see all of them, head on over to the source article located at Examiner that was posted today. They are definitely worth checking out. You can expect Metal Gear Rising Revengeance to see the light of day this coming February 19th 2013 on PS3 and Xbox360 systems, and is likely going to be on a lot of people's hot list, as I know it will be on mine.

Ready to get up close and personal with the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance demo?

Now that the Zone of the Enders HD collection is out there, what about the playable demo to the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance? To answer that question, you should check out a couple of the newest game play trailers for it below. They last so long they broke them up into 2 different videos. I've watched both myself and they really demonstrate how well the new Metal Gear is coming along. February 19th just can't get here fast enough for us all. Now both the text and voices are in Japanese, but these are just to give you an idea of what's in store for you when Rising finally makes its release next year.

One thing to point out, is that the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance demo is actually a bigger install than Zone of the Enders HD collection is. But after watching the videos below, it's well worth the install to get to play this demo. The videos are HD quality, as opposed to the older ones like it that were a bit grainy. The first one lasts for about 16 minutes, while the second one runs for about 12 minutes. Enjoy them both and tell me what you think about them so far. The anticipation is killing me, or rather Raiden is.

Two new game play trailers for the latest Metal Gear Rising Revengeance have surfaced

We can never get too many of these can we? It's always a welcome treat whenever a brand spanking new video trailer comes out for the latest Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance. In fact, you can now count on two this time around, as there is now an awesome boss battle video to watch as well as a stealth oriented video trailer which shows off sneak attacks from Raiden. I can't decide which I like better, but feel free to comment on what you see and tell me what you think. By the way, this is footage from the demo that's included with Zone of the Enders HD collection, for those of you who chose to buy it.

Another thing to mention is the European limited edition release of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, which only 25,000 copies will be made for that. It includes a 30cm figurine of Raiden, as you can see in the pics below, and will also feature a special type of code you can use to give Raiden a white outfit, which will allow him to carry on more health items, a big plus when going up against those boss battles. Those of you in Europe can expect to shell out 99,95 Euros, that is, if you can manage to get your hands on a copy of it. Remember, only 25,000 copies and falling. Full on preview for the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance with some sweet images

Now that the new trailer is out, English and in HD at that, how about someone do a lengthy preview for our beloved new Metal Gear game. And while we're at it, some new in game screen shots would be nice as well. Oh, that's right, someone did do that, it's sitting over at JoyStiq right now, just waiting for you to drool over it. The lucky dogs got to play a full 30 minutes of Rising Revengeance while they were at the Tokyo Game Show recently, and give a tell all preview about it. There are about 16 new photos out too, and they look really nice. So go check them out and see what you think. Also, if you're planning on buying the new Zone of the Enders HD collection, keep in mind that it also comes with a free demo of the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance along with it. If you live in Japan, and own a Xbox360, you won't ever get t play it, not even if you buy the Zone of the Enders HD collection, as Hideo Kojima made sure of that. The Japanese don't exactly buy 360 games to a large degree, just Nintendo and Sony products.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance cancelled in Japan for obvious reasons

Konami games development has made a statement recently that they have decided to cancel the Xbox360 version of the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance. They didn't give any specific reasons why, but from what I understand, it's simply based on the fact that the Japanese have not, will not, and will never buy Xbox360 games, at least to a large degree, as sales of 360 games in Japan are relatively low. This is likely due to their dislike of Microsoft. Can you blame them? I can't seem to, I don't even think you can purchase a 360 or games for it within the country of Japan. They tend to do what I do, stick to Sony and Nintendo. Now this brings me to another question I'd like to ask you, the fellow gamer. Have you had any back luck with your 360 messing up, overheating, or other problems? I know one guy who has gone through 3 Xbox360s so far, and has vowed to stick to PS3 from now on. Let's hope Microsoft has learned its lesson with the next console when it makes its release.

If you pre-order the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, and you are an attendee of the show, you will receive a limited edition T-Shirt for your purchase from Konami. So if you're in the area, and drop by to pre-purchase your copy, you will want to make your way to the show floor where booth #442 is located and claim your T-shirt along with it. Secret character in Rising Revengeance will be shown at the Tokyo Game Show

What's this about a new secret character in the latest Metal Gear Rising Revengeance? You won't find out any faster than anyone else, because it is going to be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show coming up soon this year. On top of that, Konami has stated they are doing Japanese voice overs for characters, such as Kenyuu Horiuchi doing the voice of Raiden, Hiroaki Hirata will do Sam, and Yoshimasa Hosoya will play the robot dog. I wish there were was a really in depth trailer showing off some of these things, but then that's where patience comes in I guess. It'll be interesting to see the new secret Metal Gear game character shown off soon, and as soon as I see it, I'll post about it in a timely manner. Rising Revengeance may come to your PC soon if you're lucky enough that is

For you PC gamers and Metal Gear fans alike, this could be your lucky day, *maybe*. Konami game headquarters has actually toyed around with the idea to release the new Metal Gear Rising Revengeance out on the PC. Although, just not exactly at the same time as the console versions like Xbox 360 and PS3. Here is what Konami had to say about it specifically:

“Right now, honestly, we are doing our best to complete at the same time the PlayStation 3 version and the Xbox 360 version,” Kojima Productions Creative Producer Yuji Korekado told Eurogamer. “For the PC version, we will contemplate making it or not once we reach this goal of completing the PS3 and 360 versions.”
