Castlevania Harmony of Despair has seen its share of download able content and the action doesn't stop as this cool Konami game now has a new stage for download called Lord of the Flies. This new stage has seemed to borrow some concepts from the almighty Symphony of the Night, one of the best if not the best Castlevania game out there and it takes place in an above ground type scene where at the end of this Lord of the Flies stage you will encounter a boss named Beelzebub. How do you like that? To add this content to your Xbox Live Arcade collection will cost you 320 Microsoft points.
People wanted it, they even demanded it, and Konami responded. Richter Belmont and Maria Renard are now added to this sweet new Castlevania for you to download and use. This whole thing took place in less than a week after Konami released Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades, a nice addition from a previous DS Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. For those of you who don't know Maria and Richter, Richter Belmont was the main hero in Rondo of Blood, while Maria Renard was an unlockable secondary usable character. Both of which made another appearance in the hit title, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, which was a direct sequel to Rondo of Blood. As you can see they were highly sought after for use in Harmony of Despair. Konami is charging 240 MS points for each character or about $3 USD. Found a bit more in depth info and artwork regarding the new Castlevania Harmony of Despair. Just a few days ago I mentioned that 2 characters were just added for download. Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades from Castlevania game Dawn of Sorrow, the first Castlevania to come out on the Nintendo DS. If you head over to 1up you'll see what I mean. Castlevania Harmony of Despair still hasn't seen a hint that Maria Renard from Rondo of Blood is making a debut, but there is hope. You heard right, Xbox Live Arcade fans can rejoice because the new Castlevania Harmony of Despair has seen its rumors about two new characters that are being introduced and here they are. Yoko Belnades and Julius Belmont. Remember them? Think back to the very first Castlevania game to come out on the Nintendo DS, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Now those guys have joined Harmony of Despair and they can be yours for the price of 240 MS Points. HOD gives you and five others control over characters from previous Castlevania game titles including some artwork from other titles like Order of Ecclesia, Dawn of Sorrow, and Portrait of Ruin to name a few.
Now each of these 2 new characters like all heroes has pros and cons, Yoko it a bit weak on physical attacks but makes up for it with magic. Julius Belmont on the other hand is more about physical attacks in which he uses his whip, and it not only has a pretty long reach, but also doubles as a grappling hook for swinging around, kind of like how you did in Super Castlevania IV on the Super Nintendo. He also boasts other traditional attacks such as daggers and so fourth. One of my personal favorite characters is the Goth heroin from Castlevania game Order of Ecclesia, while my favorite Castlevania game in general is Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
