The new behind the scenes episode for the Castlevania fan movie is out for public viewing

Thứ Năm, 29 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

As with each Tuesday at 12 PM, a new episode has been launched for the ever increasingly popular Castlevania fan movie, which you can watch below, or check it out as well as past episodes from the official page at IGN's START channel. As some of you may or may not know, this is basically a high budget fan based movie, with some pretty well known characters starring in it, such as Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn from TV's Star Trek The Next Generation. Sirtis played Counselor Troy on that show, and Michael Dorn played the Klingon Worf. Well, in this Castlevania movie, called Castlevania Hymn of Blood, he plays a wearwolf, which is a very fitting role for him considering his Klingon character counterpart he is so used to over the years. This latest episode is number 6, which actually isn't an episode at all. It's a behind the scenes video showing the production of Hymn of Blood, and what effort went into making it. I guess you can look at this latest video as a breather that explains it all, and just before they decide to bring out the next official new episode.

The storyline actually starts out with the birth of Simon Belmont, and following which his mother dies due to complications of his birth. Simon is then taken away from Lord Dracula's castle before he can christen him with his dark powers. Also the makers of this film want to assure that they are in no way affiliated, associated, or even endorsed by Konami games development company. But at the same time, Konami is pretty cool about the idea of a Castlevania game based movie being done. It's either that or they have decided to turn the other cheek and don't mind the production of it, which is also nice to know. As with each new episode that comes out for Castlevania Hymn of Blood, I will post about it here for you to check out, or you can simply head over to the official page for it and hang out there, while also getting to watch previous episodes that you may have missed. Again, IGN's START channel is the official hang out spot for it. Cheers.

What should the next installment of a Castlevania movie be about and who should star in it?

Chủ Nhật, 25 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

Now that we are just 2 days away from episode 6 of the new Castlevania game based movie, courtesy of IGN's START channel, we know what storyline it's about by now. Simon Belmont's quest to rid the world of the dark forces of Lord Dracula. But as we get closer and closer to the end of the movie, some new questions arrive at the table about what should the next installment of a Castlevania movie be about? That's where you, the fan/viewer come into play. Should it be about Dracula's son Alucard?, or should it move onto the next quest of Simon Belmont or even to the next heir to the house of Belmont instead? Ever since 2006 when the idea of a Castlevania movie was first toyed with, that has been the big question. This new fan based series Castlevania Hymn of Blood basically took most of us by surprise, albeit a welcome surprise considering the quality of it and the fact that it isn't a Hollywood type production, but rather a "high budget fan based film"

As each new episode rolls out every Tuesday at 12PM, feel free to think about it and comment here as to what you would like to see in the future Castlevania film series, perhaps if your ideas are spoken loud enough, the the powers that be might hear you and some of those elements could make it into a possible full blown box office movie. Remember that the Castlevania Hymn of Blood crew wants you, and everyone else to know, that they are in no way, shape, or form, affiliated, associated, or even approved by Konami games development at all. This is basically just a proper legal disclaimer that has to be made just for protection purposes.

Although I personally believe that Konami is pretty cool with the idea and concept of a Castlevania game based movie being done, or has at least turned the other cheek and doesn't mind it at all, which is also nice. Either way, keep up with each new episode as it comes out, as I will post about it here, or you can just remember to check back each Tuesday at 12PM for a new episode release, as this coming Tuesday will be episode number 6. So in case you missed the first 5 episodes, you can watch them in all their glory by checking out the official Castlevania Hymn of Blood page itself located at IGN's START page. Enjoy and comment on what you think about the latest episode number 5 below. Cheers.

A release date has been set for Silent Hill Book of Memories in Japan

Thứ Bảy, 24 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

While North America is enjoying a taste of the new Silent Hill Book of Memories on their Playstation Vita systems, Japan won't be left out of the picture, as a release date has now been set for it. February 14th 2013 Japanese gamers will get to experience Book of Memories for themselves, and oh did I mention it was February 14th? Yes, Valentines day. A horror game is getting released the same day couples renew their love vows. Of course that's just a coincidence, as it also is just 5 short days away from the anticipated release of the next Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance. Silent Hill Book of Memories isn't quite like the Silent Hill we've known over the years. This is more action oriented and features a 3/4 top down view perspective, an element you might not be used to, at least with past Silent Hill game titles. Here below is one of the better video trailers to showcase what its like. It's actually a game walk through strategy video and should give you a clear representation of what's in store for you should you decide to pick this one up at the store sometime.

You can watch it below if you like and see what you think of it. It lasts for about 3 minutes, 15 seconds and is mainly there to showcase The 2nd Runner, part 2 of the Zone of the Enders series. New downloadable content Grey Fox costume if you pre-order the new Metal Gear

Thứ Năm, 22 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

The downloadable content just keeps on coming, and we don't mind that do we? I just posted a few days ago about the new Raiden skin for those who pre-order the new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance, which is set to come out in stores in about 3 months. This new DLC might further entice you to pre purchase Rising Revengeance, as it is the Grey Fox outfit that's now meant for Raiden. Grey Fox as some of you might know, is our beloved cyborg ninja from Metal Gear Solid, yeah, that guy that just might slice you in half if you mess with him too much. His costume will be apart of the new DLC for those who pre-order. This was actually shared on FaceBook recently, if you would like to check that particular page out. You can join in on the conversation and probably make some new friends in the process.

For those of you who might not know who the infamous Grey Fox is, here is a video showcasing what he is known for, slicing and dicing others to bits. The new Metal Gear game is set for a release date of February 19th 2013 for both the Xbox360 and PS3 game systems. The PC version is said to follow shortly afterwards. Also, if you act now, there is the awesome limited edition set that comes with a steel case, official full soundtrack, and a cool looking plasma lamp. You can see it in its entirety from the image below. The soundtrack and plasma lamp are on my wish list, can't wait to get my hands on that puppy. After the game's release it'll be interesting to see all of the available downloadable content that Metal Gear Rising Revengeance has to offer, as I'm sure this new Grey Fox add on is only the tip of an already ever increasing size iceberg. Cheers.

There are about 15 new screen shots in all that have just been released, so if you would like to see all of them, head on over to the source article located at Examiner that was posted today. They are definitely worth checking out. The new Wii U system makes use of the old Konami code? Really?

Thứ Ba, 20 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

Well, yes and no. But this brings back really fond memories. It seems that if you have a Wii U system, and a Netflix account, signing out or disconnecting from it requires you to input the old Konami code, or rather most of it with 3 extra commands. Your sign out code is "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up. Yes, you saw right, there is no B, A, Start. That's what it would normally be if it were the entire and *true* natural version of the old Konami code, which was famous for games like LifeForce, Contra, and Gradius for getting full firepower and 30 extra men in the game.

I plan on getting a Wii U system myself pretty soon. Mostly because on its main focuses are also on classic games like the ones I just mentioned, as well as some Castlevania goodness. Check out the Wii U video below which showcases some of its beauty. Cheers.

Episode number 5 of the Castlevania fan movie is now released for viewing

| 0 nhận xét

Always right on time, which is every Tuesday at 12PM, a new episode of the Castlevania game based fan movie is now out for you to watch. This one is episode number 5, and continues the storyline behind Simon Belmont and his quest to rid the world of darkness from Lord Dracula. As always, if you've missed any episodes before this one, worry not. You can find every single last one of them at the official page located over at IGN's START section. The name of this series, called Castlevania Hymn of Blood, begins the story with the birth of Simon Belmont, who is then taken away from Lord Dracula's castle before he can christen him with his dark powers. Michael Dorn also stars in it, and plays a wearwolf. Dorn was the guy who played Worf on Star Trek The Next Generation. From what I've seen, our beloved Klingon does a fine job at it, a good choice pick by the casting agents.

Let me summarize for those of you who need more information as to what and where this whole thing came from. This is a high budget fan based movie, not a Hollywood type production movie. But having watched it, it might as well be, because for a fan based movie, they put their hearts into it. Also, of course, it's perfectly free for you the viewer to watch and enjoy. I honestly believe that this movie was born out of a necessity, because for so many years, we have had the idea of a Castlevania movie toyed with in front of us, with no one really getting serious about it. It seems that a group of well financed and grateful fans have decided to put an end to that madness, and we welcome it with open arms indeed.

The creators of Castlevania Hymn of Blood want everyone to also know, that they are in NO way, shape, or form associated, affiliated, or even endorsed by Konami. Just a legal disclaimer that they wanted to throw out there just in case. Of course, Konami is very cool about the matter, or has turned the other cheek and doesn't mind it, which is also pretty nice. So kick back, get your popcorn and enjoy another fine episode of Castlevania Hymn of Blood, and remember to check back either here, or at the official IGN START page for more episodes as they get released for you to watch each Tuesday at 12PM, or until they are all released down to the last one. Personally I cant wait for all of them to be out, so we can get a full non stop movie.

The magic and wonder of the Silent Hill game music soundtrack

Chủ Nhật, 18 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

A while back, some really pleasant fellow managed to upload the 100% full soundtrack to the Silent Hill game from back then. There are a total of 100 songs in all, yes, 100 I said so it looks like this is indeed the full game music soundtrack to Silent Hill. I remember just how creepy the music was and after listening to some of these tracks it definitely brings back some good memories of our beloved horror series. At that same page there is also time frame links with the title beside them to each and every song in case you want to skip to a certain segment and listen to a specific song. Also, if it is your intention to download the entire thing, you might need some help with that one. For that task, you can head on over to DvdVideoSoft and get a FREE YouTube downloader program that works with pretty much any YouTube video or song you can find. That link I just posted also has links to other free tools for converting YouTube files into other formats like MP3, or iPod. Free is good right?

By the way, that YouTube downloader program will install a toolbar or other program, unless you select for it not to do so. These free programs have a tendency to do that and try to entice you to purchase other products. It's nothing malicious or anything. So enjoy the video below and reminisce about old times.

Did the Metal Gear series really predict the future with green energy based bio fuels?

| 0 nhận xét

This is one of those things that came out of left field, and most of you including myself, never knew anything about this. Recently there was an article done by the folks over at Kotaku about how the Metal Gear game series, specifically Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake might have, just might have predicted the future of green energy bio fuels. This all could be academic, but it is a bit fascinating and somewhat interesting. According to the official Wikipedia page for Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, the storyline takes place in the 1990s, and the world is suffering from an oil shortage. A Czech scientist comes to the rescue by creating a special type of algae that's bursting with hydrocarbons and can be used to make oil, both cheap and inexpensively. He is soon captured and held hostage by those who want to dominate the world by controlling its own oil supply. Solid Snake is then taken out of retirement and sent to recover the scientist, among other stealth operations. What exactly is this process of algae to oil production? It does exist, and if you live in California, you can buy it at four gas stations as well. Here is an article at SFGate that shows and discusses it in detail.

Now let me help you out with this. Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake is a lost and precious gem that you might not have known about it. So how about you go ahead and play it right now, you're going to love it. It was released on the MSX2 computer system in Japan only, but don't worry, you can use an emulator, and get the Rom, plus apply a translation patch for it. There is even a walk through for it if you need help getting through Metal Gear 2. I'll point you in the right direction for everything you need right now. You can find the emulator for Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake at blueMSX, which is hailed as the best emulator in the world. The Rom for Metal Gear 2 is at RomHustler, and finally, for those of you who don't speak Japanese, you can get the English translation patch at RomHacking. You'll need an IPS patcher to apply the patch to the Rom, that link is also at RomHacking See picture and video below for proof that it works.

OR, on second thought, if all of this technical garbage is making you mad, you can also download an *already* patched version of Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake from TheIsoZone. Just remember to click the "Free Download" link, not Premium unless you have an account there. After that, enter the capcha code and your done. A walk through for it is also located at GameFaqs as well, like every other Faq in the universe. The blueMSX has a built in save state, as well as a cheat function in case you have a hard time in the game. OK did I miss anything? I think we started off with some subject about algae and Metal Gear predictions. But I digress, if you need help just comment and let me know and I'll see what I can do. Have fun with it!

Vast Fame 8-in-1 Multicart Scans

| 0 nhận xét

Some more scans today, and they're scans of one of at least three multicarts released by the excellent Taiwanese company Vast Fame!  The scans are kinda crappy, but while I try to get better scans you can at least get an idea of the packaging.  This multicart, by the way, is the one that features West Story which is related to the Harry Potter 3 bootleg.

As I mentioned in the aforementioned link, everything except West Story and Devil Island are shown on the box; they're only mentioned once in the game list on the back and side of the box.  On another note, all of the games are their latest revision of them, meaning some of them like Zook Hero Z and San Guo Zhi have their copyrights/company logo removed.  Devil Island and Soul Falchion are the same as on the 12-in-1 V.Fame release, with the latter featuring Super Fighter Alpha's music instead of the ROM dump's (partially original) music.
Sheng Shou Wu Yu I showed gameplay footage of from the Li Cheng release, which is exactly the same save for the title and intro...And I showed the original intro/title as well.  Shi Kong Xing Shou, San Guo Zhi, and Crazy Richman 2 (Monopoly 2) are the same as their ROM counterparts.  Zook Hero Z is the same Chinese/Japanese version I did a playthrough of.

Silent Hill Book of Memories will release in Japan next February 14th on PS Vita

| 0 nhận xét

Japanese fans of the Silent Hill series rejoice. This coming February 14th, it'll be your turn to experience the new Silent Hill Book of Memories on the PS Vita hand held system. The cover art is even better than the North American cover in my opinion, and for around 5,980 yen, your copy will be in your hands as well. Now here is the interesting part, isn't February 14th on Valentines day? Yeah, I believe it is. So a horror game gets released on the same day that couples renew their love vows. Just an observation for you to chew on, as also 5 days later we here in North America will also see the release on the long awaited new Metal Gear game Rising Revengeance, plus Limited Edition copy, for those of you who ordered it. Anyway, check out the cover art for Book of Memories, and if you haven't watched one of latest videos for it, feel free to watch that as well and comment on what you think of it and the cover art. Enjoy.

Castlevania music tears up the stage with rock and roll Video Game Music Live show

| 0 nhận xét

This is why Castlevania music is so awesome, especially when a live rock band gets up on stage and starts rocking to it. Tommy Tallarico from the picture below can be seen on stage at the Lincoln center (where the heck is that at?) jumping around to Castlevania music, as you can also see the logo in the background just to prove it. The performance will take place along with the Fort Collins Symphony this coming November 20th as apart of the "Video Games Live Show". This is a rather cool and dedicated tribute band which plays music from various classic games, such as Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Mario Bros. So if you live in the area, and want tickets, you might want to hurry. Good grief I wish I could go. Oh well. Here is my own little tribute to the Castlevania game series, check out the video below of a creepy looking guy (Grim Reaper?) playing "Vampire Killer" from the original Castlevania from back in the 80's. Trust me you're going to love it, and comment on what you think about it.

Music Rhythm touch games on the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone. Reflect Beat Plus takes off

Thứ Tư, 14 tháng 11, 2012 | 0 nhận xét

It seems that music, and music rhythm games are something that Konami games development is really famous for. Dance Dance Revolution being one of them. But how about this for an interesting twist. If you have an iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, or are planning to get one, this might be for you. Reflect Beat Plus is one of those really addicting games that you just can't seem to put down any time soon. Battle music rhythm games have that effect on people, and thanks to Konami, you can get it right now at the iTunes App store. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later, and at a bit pricey four bucks for four songs, it might turn a few of you away, excepting of course the really die hard music rhythm gamers. If you want a more up close and personal experience of Reflect Beat Plus, watch the video below and see for yourself what it looks like. You can also check out the official iTunes page for it for yet more information. It seems really fast paced from what I've seen so far, yet interesting. What do you think?

Episode IV is now out for the new Castlevania fan movie "Hymn of Blood" for your viewing pleasure

| 0 nhận xét

It's Castlevania Hymn of Blood time. This time around the Castlevania fan movie gets Episode IV. Yes, also the rumors you heard were also true. Michael Dorn stars in it as a wearwolf. For those of you who don't know who that is, he played Worf on Star Trek The Next Generation. So get ready for some wear wolf action from our beloved Klingon. Let me also bring you up to speed in case you're new to the series. Castlevania Hymn of Blood is a "high budget" fan based web series, which starts out with the birth of Simon Belmont, who must be taken away from the clutches of Lord Dracula before he can christen him with his own dark powers, thereby corrupting and turning him.

This is the fourth installment of the series, and each new episode is set to be released every Tuesday at 12PM. So now you know when to expect to see them released. We all complained for years about the lack of a Castlevania movie, well here you go, and believe me, it's pretty darn good. Especially since it's a fan based movie, due to it being a high budget one. Now that is awesome to say the least. This is apart of IGN's official START YouTube channel, so if you're ready for some more Castlevania live action, then by all means feel free to head there now and enjoy what you see. Just check back each Tuesday after 12PM for for Castlevania action until the very end. Let me also know what you think of them so far and feel free to comment here about it. Enjoy.
